1.5 Methodology
- First Part: This session will be delivered using a non-formal education approach that prioritizes active learning, peer interaction, and experiential exploration over passive information transfer. The methodology is rooted in the belief that young people learn best when they are co-creators of knowledge—when they are engaged not only intellectually, but also emotionally and socially.
Key methods include:
- Interactive Presentation with simplified visuals and real-world examples to introduce complex legal frameworks in an accessible way
- Participatory Discussions that invite critical thinking, encourage questions, and allow space for multiple perspectives
- Visual Mapping and Case Snapshots, enabling participants to connect abstract legal mechanisms with practical marine environmental challenges
- Guided Reflection to promote personal connection with the topic, linking global issues to participants’ own local realities and potential for action
The session will provide a safe and inclusive space for youth-led expression, valuing curiosity and diverse viewpoints. It aims not only to raise awareness of international marine law, but to cultivate civic motivation, legal literacy, and a sense of collective environmental responsibility (fully aligned with the Erasmus+ vision of empowering active, informed, and responsible young citizens).
