
Dr. Marko PREM is a Deputy Director at Priority Actions Programme Regional Activity Centre (PAP/RAC) of UNEP-Mediterranean Action Plan since 2000. He holds two University degrees (Landscape Architecture and Agriculture), MSc in Environmental Policy and Management, and PhD in Geography. Prior to PAP/RAC he worked as a spatial planner at the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning in Slovenia. At PAP/RAC he contributed to the negotiation process for the preparation of the ICZM Protocol and has been involved in its implementation since adoption.
His main projects include several Coastal Area Management Programme – CAMP projects in Mediterranean countries related to resource management, tourism development, territorial/marine development and planning, establishment of institutional coordination, stakeholders participation, trainings and alike. Recently he’s been involved in the implementation of the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme, climate change and MSP.
