
Margherita Poles is a project manager and trainer working at the intersection of sustainable development, education, and gender equality. She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development from University College Dublin, with research focusing on equitable access to education through Open Educational Resources.
She currently collaborates with FISPMED – International Federation for Sustainable Development in the Mediterranean and Black Sea – where she contributes to initiatives linked to the Mediterranean Commission for Sustainable Development. Her work focuses on developing educational programmes, coordinating international partnerships, and supporting multi-stakeholder cooperation on sustainability, climate resilience, and the Blue Economy.
Alongside her professional work, Margherita is actively engaged with Soroptimist International of Europe, where she contributes to advocacy and educational initiatives promoting women’s rights, gender equality, and access to education as a foundation for social justice. She has participated in international policy discussions, including the UN Commission on the Status of Women, and supports projects that empower women and girls through education, leadership, and digital skills.
Her work combines project management, training, and policy engagement, with a strong commitment to strengthening the role of civil society and international cooperation in advancing sustainable and inclusive development.
